How to Make Nixon Chicken Casserole?
To make Nixon Chicken Casserole recipe, you all just need to follow few simple steps.
- First Preheat your oven to 425 °F (220 °C).
- If you use chicken drumsticks or chicken thighs, all you need to do is first remove the bones using a sharp knife. You do that by slowly removing or cutting the meat around the bones slowly.
- Don’t worry if some of the meat may remain on the bones because you can use them to make a delicious chicken broth later on. What is more now? You can use chicken breasts and skip all that trouble to have your Nixon Casserole neatly.
- When you remove the chicken bones, cut the chicken into small or medium pieces. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on it thoroughly, and pour about 2 table-spoons of vegetable oil over it, just to make it clean and easier to spread the spices.
- Pour some veg oil into a pan over high heat. When the pan is warm, just put in the chicken. Bake the chicken pisces for a few minutes while constantly stirring. It should only get some brown dots like and it means it is baked. However, don’t have to fully bake the chicken because you will bake the chicken in the oven also.
- Take another bowl and cook broccoli pieces for 10 minutes.
- When the broccoli is cooked (half) well, now you need to mix everything in a casserole dish. So, mix half-cooked broccoli, chicken, and a can of mushroom soup in the casserole dish.
- Sprinkle Cheddar or Gouda cheese over everything, and now place it in the oven for 25 to 35 minutes of time.
- You can now make this dish by adding half-cooked pasta. You can also mix in some peas or pieces of bacon as well. It is all you need to feel free to play with the ingredients and enjoy.
